Measuring What Matters to the Environment
Environmental Impact Metrics
We measure environmental performance across energy, emissions, water and waste—so improvements are specific, trackable and scalable across sites and processes.
We track sustainability through clear targets and measurable performance. Under the O2 renewables arrangement, we plan to source 50% of Bharuch site’s energy from renewables, contributing to our company-wide target of achieving 35% of total energy from green power. Across our sites, 46% of process water is recycled, and three out of five sites have achieved zero liquid discharge. We report Scope 1 and 2 emissions of 7.11 Lac tCO₂e. Our sustainability performance is also benchmarked globally, with a 97th percentile ranking in the S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Index (Global Chemical Industry) and an EcoVadis Silver rating that places us among the top 15% of companies worldwide.

Energy & Renewables
Why it matters
Energy choices are a direct lever for footprint reduction and operational resilience across manufacturing.
What we are doing
Our renewable electricity roadmap is structured through the O2 Renewables contract, with planned sourcing of 35% of total power via renewables and a planned 50% renewable share for the Bharuch facility through the O2 partnership.

GHG Emissions
We track Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions as a core environmental metric. In FY 2025, reported Scope 1 & 2 emissions were 745.34k tCO₂e.
The Sustainability Report notes that the reduction in combined Scope 1 & 2 emissions was supported by operational improvements, while Scope 2 reflects the changing electricity mix as operations shift from fuel-based sources toward greater grid-electricity reliance in some areas.

Water Stewardship
Water resilience is managed as an operational priority. In FY 2025, process-water recycling increased to 45%, specific water consumption was 6.45 m³/MT, and three of five sites achieved zero liquid discharge.

Environment and sustainable livelihoods
Community programmes also include afforestation and livelihood-linked interventions that strengthen local resilience. Cumulatively through FY 2025, 550,000+ trees have been planted through community afforestation and sustainable livelihood programmes.
Environment Documents by Site
Site-level environment documents are maintained for reference across locations (e.g., Ambernath, Bharuch, Gajraula, Nira, Savli) in the website’s environment document library.
