In integrated pyridine chemistry

Integrated bio-pyridine platform

The Pyridine & Picolines business is backward integrated, starting from captive production of bio-route Acetaldehyde and Formaldehyde, which are key starting raw materials besides Ammonia to manufacture Pyridine, Picolines Cyanopyridines, Piperidine, Alkyl Pyridine mixtures and other downstream derivatives . The business utilizes bio based feedstock instead of conventional petroleum route which results in significantly lower carbon footprint in all the products.

This integrated, bio-based backbone supports consistent quality, supply security and reduced embedded emissions for customers that depend on these intermediates thereby enabling them advance their sustainability agendas.

Chemistry backbone and key molecules

The portfolio covers a coherent family of heterocyclic intermediates: Pyridine; Alpha, Beta and Gamma Picolines; 2/3/4-Cyanopyridines; Piperidine; and Alkyl Pyridine mixtures. Each plays a distinct role across end markets.

Together, these molecules give formulators and innovators a scalable toolkit of high-purity, bio-based pyridine intermediates that can be used across multiple industries from a single, integrated platform.

Pyridine

acts as a versatile building block and solvent. It is used in bipyridyl herbicides such as Paraquat and Diquat, and finds applications in dyestuffs, textiles, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics and metal finishing.

Alpha Picoline

is used as a key starting material in Agrochemicals such as Picloram and Nitrapyrin, besides also being used to manufacture 2-Vinylpyridine for VP latex as well as other derivatives.

Beta Picoline

is a key intermediate for Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide/Niacin) and several agrochemical molecules, linking the pyridine chain directly into nutrition and crop-protection products.

Cyano pyridines

(2-, 3- and 4-Cyanopyridine) underpin both pharma and agro value chains and extend into nutrition via derivatives such as Chromium and Zinc Picolinate used in human and animal supplements.

Piperidine

supports pharmaceutical and agrochemical syntheses and is also used in selected rubber and specialty applications.

Alkyl Pyridine mixtures and liquid Choline Chloride

connect the pyridine platform into oilfield formulations, particularly corrosion inhibitors and clay-stabilisation systems for oil and gas operations.
